POLK COUNTY
IOWA SELECTIONS

1905 Des Moines High School Annual

One of the newest additions completed by Darlene for the library, this one has an interesting tale to tell, and I am sure that Darlene won't mind my spilling the beans <g> Appears that when she had been to the dentist and was given medication, her granddaughter came to visit and in that visit while Daddy was not watching, the little girl was feeding this old book to her puppy....happily Darlene was able to save a lot of the data to be put on line. Been there and done that, only my children (4-legged) seemed to choose chewing on molding in the middle of a stairwell that without replacing the whole thing you could not get to...you gotta love 'em though.

POLK COUNTY PIONEERS

Yet another addition completed by Darlene and her magic typing fingers! This is a 2 vol. set printed in 1908 outlining the history and lives of those brave individuals who helped to found Polk County Iowa. Darlene has made an all name index and I am sure those who are researching in Iowa and points west will find this a hard book to put down.
