of the state of Indiana for
the Spanish American War
fantastic book, printed in 1900 about the war which went from 1898-1899 was
brought to the Memorial Library through the gratuity of Janet McCormick who owns
McCormick's Books She was about to
sell the book and realized that there was tons of data in it and knew of my
project so she loaned me the book to transcribe it for your benefit first. There
are over 8,000 names in the index, giving such data as when the soldiers were
mustered in and when they were mustered out, died or deserted. There are also
promotions listed for the officers. There is a specific chapter showing the
Colored Regiments also that may help people tracing African American lines.
Spanish American War POSTER CO F 161ST vol inf
This is a beautiful restoration of an over 100 year old photo of Co. F 161st Indiana Volunteer Infantry. I have included Jane's transcription of the names on the poster and also the original & restored photos. Her company does wonderful work if you ever need to have an item restored.
