COMPANY K

     Company K comes from Calhoun, Eaton and Barry counties and comprises a number of men fine in physique and drill. This was the first company to muster in with a full quota.

CAPT. RICHARD S. LOCKTON

     Captain Richard S. Lockton of Marshall is a lawyer and spent four years in the far west as surveyor. He is a man of much push and vigor and is very popular throughout his county. He was among the first to tender his military services to Michigan in the latter part of April.

FIRST LIEUT. CLARK O. FOUNTAIN

     First lieutenant of this company is Clark O. Fountain of Grand Rapids. He is a careful, conscientious officer and full of enthusiasm. He also offered his services to Michigan early in the war.

SECOND LIEUT. GUY M. ROWLEY

Second lieutenant, Guy M. Rowley of Charlotte, is a member of the firm of Rowley & Rowley, insurance agents. He has been connected with independent military companies, and is a bright, capable officer.
