COMPANY M

     Company M comprises men from Livingston and Oakland counties and presents an unique appearance as most of the men have shaved their heads with the exception of a tuft of hair on top, which is ornamented with a ribbon. This company was ordered to report at camp on the 13th of the month and mustered in on on the 13th day of the month 13 days after it had been in camp and its company letter is the 13th of the alphabet. Six professional base ball players are included in its number.

CAPT. DAVID L. KIMBALL

     Captain David L. Kimball of Pontiac is an employee of Taylor's carriage factory. He spent three years in a western college under a regular army officer, and has made a special study of tactics.

FIRST LIEUT. RALPH MC COY

     First Lieutenant Ralph McCoy of Grand Rapids is a graduate of Orchard Lake and Cornell. He was formerly a member of Company E, Second Infantry, Michigan National Guard, and in the fall of 1897 was made lieutenant of Company G, Second Infantry, same organization.

SECOND LIEUT. EDMUND C. SHIELDS

     Second Lieutenant Edmund M. Shields of Howell is a graduate of the University of Michigan, law department, and is a practicing attorney. He is a student of tactics and is also an ardent athlete.
