1933 Nebraska Legislative Manual

List of past officers. Representative identified with occupation for some years. Seating chart for both houses of the legislature! Yet another great transcription by Ted & Carole Miller.

Nebraska Senate And House Journal

The  Thirty-ninth Session (Special) 1919 (minutes for both houses). This was a special legislative session called by Gov. McKelvie to change NE laws following riots in Omaha and other incidents of lawlessness, general unrest.

Noted midst the official business - invitation to UN-Notre Dame football game, and the donation of a box of apples!

Ted & Carole Miller, just keep plugging along and give us so much needed data to use for research.

Civil Government of Nebraska
A Manual of the History and Civil Government of the
State of  Nebraska
by
M. B. C. True, 1885

Some clips.....from page 188 - "Larceny is the intentional taking of the personal property of another with the intent to deprive him of its use permanently. If the amount taken is $35, or more, it is GRAND LARCENY; if less than $35, it is PETIT LARCENY. This is the law term for theft and stealing."

or from pp 193-4  Injury to Tombstones or Cemetery Property; a fine not less than five dollars, and not more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in jail not more than thirty days. So even 115 years ago there were cemetery vandals!

Perhaps you are more interested in the rules of inheritance? or an explanation of precinct/township? Enjoy! Thanks to Ted & Carole Miller for transcribing this one.

1887 Biographical Manual of the
Twentieth Legislature of Nebraska

Another great selection transcribed by Carole & Ted Miller. There are included wonderful bios of the various members of the legislature in that year. Everyname index added.

"Souvenir - Nebraska Legislature, 1901"

Another great addition to the Library by Ted & Carole Miller. Mini-bios, photos of NE officers, senators & house members, clerks, employees. A brief table of contents, and an every name index have been added. The 1897 book is twice the size of the 1901, and includes photos of NE institutions and their supervisors, commissioners, etc. Pam Rietsch continues to seek Nebraska Legislative Yearbooks; seems they are going to be highly variable in content!
