     GEORGE WILLIAM NORRIS (Republican). Born in Sandusky county, Ohio, July 11, 1861. Attended Baldwin university, Berea, Ohio, and Valparaiso university. Studied law while teaching and afterward finished course in law school. Admitted to the bar in 1883. Removed to Nebraska in 1885. Was three times prosecuting attorney; elected district judge of fourteenth district in 1895 and re-elected (sic) in 1899; served as representative in fifty-eighth, fifty-ninth, sixtieth, sixty-first and sixty-second congresses; elected to United States senate for the term beginning March 4, 1913, re-elected in 1918, 1924, 1930 and 1936.       EDWARD RAYMOND BURKE (Democrat). Born at Running Water, South Dakota, November 28, 1880. Educated in public schools; received A.B. degree from Beloit Colege (sic), 1906 and LL.B. degree from Harvard Law School, 1911. Is a lawyer. Married Henrietta Flinn; two children. Served as second lieutenant in the air service in the World war. Served as representative in seventy-third congress; elected to United States senate for term beginning January 3, 1935.       CHARLES F. McLAUGHLIN (Democrat). Second district. Born at Lincoln, June 19, 1887, Received A.B. degree, University of Nebraska in 1908 and LL.B. degree from Columbia university in 1910. Practiced law at Omaha since 1910. Served as captain in field artillery during the World war. Married Margaret Bruce in 1920; two children. Was member of constitutional convention 1919-20.       HARRY BUFFINGTON COFFEE (Democrat). Fifth district. Born in Sioux county, Nebraska, March 16, 1890. Received AB. degree from University of Nebraska in 1913. Is rancher and cattle dealer. Served as second lieutenant in air service during World war. Married Katherine Newbranch Douglas in 1935. Is a Mason, Elk, Rotarian, Alpha Tao Omega. Elected to Congress in 1934. Re-elected in 1936.       ROBERT LEROY COCHRAN, Governor. (Democrat). Burn on a farm near Avoca, Cass county. Ancestors came from Scotland in 1772. Educated in rural schools of Lincoln county, Brady high school, B.Sc., C. E., University of Nebraska, 1910. Married Aileen Gantt, March 18, 1919. They have two children--Mary Aileen and Robert Leroy. Has been in engineering service of Santa Fe railroad, county surveyor, bridge inspector, deputy state engineer and state engineer of Nebraska for twelve years. Member of the capital commission.       HARRY R. SWANSON, Secretary of State, (Democrat). Born in Omaha, April 15, 1889. Married Leona Oswald. They have two children. Father came to America from Sweden in 1884, mother in 1883. Educated in Omaha schools. Has been a postal clerk, Kinkaid homesteader and cow puncher in Grant county. For a time worked with federal land bank, then as commercial traveler in Nebraska and Iowa. Elected secretary of state in 1932, 1934 and 1936. Methodist, Member of A. F. & A. M., Scottish Rite, Royal Arcanum, U. C. T., and Lincoln university club. Address: Lincoln.

      WILLIAM BUCHANAN PRICE, Auditor, (Democrat). Born in Lynchburg, Va., July 2, 1865. Came to Nebraska in 1886, and to Lincoln in 1890. Ancestors came from Wales and Scotland in 1750. Married Miss Corey, June 23, 1891. Attended public schools in Kansas and University of Iowa law school. Was a lawyer and was in newspaper business. Member of Louisiana Purchase Exposition Commission, delegate to democratic national convention at St. Louis, 1916. Elected state auditor in 1932, re-elected in 1934. Christian Scientist. Was member of Lancaster county bar association, Masons and other fraternal orders. Deceased August 19, 1935.

      FRED C. AYRES, Auditor. (Democrat). Born in Washara county, Wisconsin. Came to Nebraska in 1876. Married Belle Parker, June 29, 1902; four children. Ancestry Scotch. Attended public schools. Has been printer and newspaper publisher. Has served as member of school board, member of city council, deputy secretary of state and deputy auditor. Is member of Methodist church, A. F. & A. M. lodge, Sons of Veterans, Knife and Fork Club and Chamber of Commerce. Appointed auditor on the death of William Price in August, 1935. Address: Lincoln.

      GEORGE E. HALL, Treasurer. (Democrat). Born in Illinois, February 13, 1870. Came to Nebraska in 1873. Married November 11, 1906, Miss Berry. Two children. Educated in the common schools and University of Nebraska. Has been in banking business for many years. Was state treasurer, 1915-1919; 1933-1937. Has been state secretary of finance, and assistant receiver in the bank receivership department. Is a Protestant. Belongs to B. P. O. E., and Modern Woodmen. Address: Lincoln.

      WILLAIM H. WRIGHT, Attorney general. (Democrat). Born at Scottsbluff, November 27, 1902. Married Miss Handy, October 15, 1930. Attended Scottsbluff high school and University of Nebraska. Is an attorney at law. Was deputy county attorney, city attorney of Scottsbluff, and assistant attorney general. Is a protestant. Address: Lincoln.

      LEO N. SWANSON, Commissioner of public lands and buildings. (Republican). Born at Omaha, March 5, 1891. Ancestors came from Sweden in 1882. Married Ellen Clare McClain in 1912; three children.       CHARLES WILLIAM TAYLOR, Superintendent of public instruction. Ancestors came to this country in the seventeenth century.       FLOYD LOOMIS BOLLEN, Railway commissioner (Democrat). Born at Wells, Minnesota, January 18, 1875. Parents settled in Cedar county, Nebraska, in 1889. Married Katie Ray Jennings of Ord in 1902; three children. Ancestors English prior to Revolution. Attended rural and high school in Illinois and Nebraska. A graduate of Fremont Normal College and University of Nebraska, College of Law. Farmer, rural school teacher, superintendent of city schools, hardware and implement business and for past 25 years actively engaged in the practice of law. City attorney of Bonesteel, Crofton and Friend. Successfully defended all law suits involving the rights of the city of Friend to trust funds for erection of Warren Memorial hospital. Member of the first hospital board. Conducted first teacher's institute in Tripp county, South Dakota. Member of 1913 legislature from Knox and Cedar counties. Author of bills for proposed constitutional amendments providing for five-sixths jury verdicts, equal suffrage, and adoption of constitutional amendments by majority voting on the question. Author of conference committee report submitting the question of removal of university to a vote of the people. After adjournment of 1913 legislature, organized Independent voter's league, which successfully evoked the referendum on Nebraska City armory law, partial repeal of primary law and paved the way for 1920 constitutional convention.       WILL M. MAUPIN, Railway commissioner. (Democrat). Born in Callaway county, Missouri, August 31, 1863. Came to Nebraska in 1886. Married Lottie C. Armstead, October 13, 1894; eight children, Ancestry French. Attended public schools. Has been newspaper man and printer. Was labor commissioner, 1909-1911 and state director of publicity, 1919-1920. Was lawyer in Omaha from 1887 to 1920, member of Nebraska legislature, 1893, U. S. attorney for Nebraska, 1905 to 1910, district judge, 1920 to 1926. Is a Methodist.       WILLIAM BRANDON ROSE. Born at Grove City, Pennsylvania, January 25, 1862. Came to Nebraska, January 2, 1889. Married November 18, 1893, to Mrs. Genevieve Eaton, who died July 6, 1914; one child, Genevieve Rose Faust, New Haven, Connecticut. Married June 21, 1919, to Lillian Trester of Lincoln, Ancestors come from England early in the eighteenth century. Educated in public schools of Grove City and Grove City college. Received LL.D. from Grove City college. Admitted to bar at Mercer, Pennsylvania, 1888. Since coming to Nebraska has been asssitant (sic) state librarian, deputy clerk of Supreme court, editor of decisions of Supreme court, vols. 35 to 59, assistant attorney general, 1900 to 1908, judge of Supreme court from 1908 to date.       BAYARD H. PAINE. Born near Painesville, Ohio, April 27, 1872. Came to Nebraska, January, 1873. Married Grace Bentley, January 15, 1902; three children. Of New England ancestry. Educated in the public schools, Northwestern university, and law school of University of Michigan. Is a lawyer. Has taught school, been court reporter, and district judge. Was a member of the board of education and of the public library board. Is a trustee of Wesleyan university. Belongs to the Methodist church.       EDWARD FRANCIS CARTER. Born at O'Neill, March II, 1897. Ancestry English and Scotch. Married Vera Marie Hofrichter, June 2, 1920; five children.       ALVIN BLESSING (Republican). Twenty-third district. Member of senate in 1935. Born in Michigan in 1871. Came to Nebraska in 1880. Married Clenemie Hull, December 25, 1893; three children. Attended grade schools. Raised live-stork. Had been city clerk, county clerk, member of county board, and county assessor. Was a member of the Presbyterian church, the A. F. & A. M. and Knights of Pythias lodges. Deceased, January 26, 1936.

      FRANK J. BRADY (Republican). Twenty-second district. Member of senate in 1935. Born at Atkinson, September 15, 1894. Married Miss Olson, July 12, 1930; one child. Attended public schools and the university of Nebraska. Is a rancher and coal and grain dealer. Has been member of city council, president of the Nebraska division of the Izaak Walton League.       EMIL E. BRODECKY (Democrat). Twelfth district. Born in Schuyler, June 26, 1885. Married October 14, 1908, to Lucy M. Novak; three boys. Father came in 1873 and mother in 1871 from Czechoslovakia. Was graduated from Howells high school in 1904 and the University school of agriculture in 1907. Is engaged in farming and dairying. Served as a member of the state militia for three years, on the board of education three terms, and as secretary-treasurer of Farmers' lumber and grain company at Howells for seventeen years.       WILLIAM C. BULLARD (Democrat). Twenty-ninth district. Born in Omaha, May 28, 1899. Married Edith Baron, December 31, 1919; two boys. Attended high school and grades in Omaha. Formerly was engaged in the wholesale plumbing and heating business in Omaha. Now is a lumber dealer. Is president of McCook Chamber of Commerce. Belongs to Episcopal church and B. P. O. E.       PEARL LEROY CADY (Democrat). Eighth district. Member of senate in 1935. Born at Bellwood, August 1, 1883. Married Miss Larson, September 17, 1910; three children. English ancestry. Attended Columbus high school, Fremont normal, Veterinary college, Kansas City, Missouri. Has taught school. Is a practicing veterinarian. Has been mayor of village, president of fair board and president of state veterinary medical association. Is a member of Congregational church and A. F. & A. M. lodge (Knight Templar, Shriner).       JOHN S. CALLAN (Democrat). Sixteenth district. Was born in Odell, Nebraska, April 20, 1890. Married Agnes Armstrong, June 18, 1919; two boys. Ancestors came from Scotland and Germany. Was graduated from Odell high school. Attended University of Nebraska two years. Was postmaster at Odell for nine years. Present occupation--hardware, implement and automobile dealer.
