General practice of law in Omaha since 1929. Married Victoria Kuncl, Omaha, September 24, 1910; three children: Roman L., Jr., Quentin J., and Jana L. Member, Douglas County Board of Commissioners, 1944-1952, chairman, 1945-1952; member, Advisory Committee to Nebraska Board of Control, 1947-1952; president, Nebraska County Officials Association, 1950-1951; vice president, National Association of County Officials, 1951-1952; vice chairman, Nebraska Civil Defense, 1951-1952; member, Board of Regents, Omaha University, 1950-1957. National vice president and legal counsel Western Bohemian Fraternal Association (ZCBJ). Member, First Unitarian Church; Scottish Rite, Shrine, 33rd degree; and Kiwanis Club, Omaha. Married Miss Lois Wylie-Atwater, of Minden, Nebraska, June 6, 1931; two children: Mrs. Clara Mae Hopkins and Carl T., Jr. Is a lawyer. Elected to the 76th Congress as a member of the House of Representatives and re-elected for seven successive terms: appointed to the United States Senate on January 1, 1955, began full 6-year term in the Senate on January 3, 1955, having been elected on November 2, 1954. Re-elected to the United States Senate in 1960 and 1960. Member of the Senate Committees on Finance, Rules and Administration, Government Operations, Aeronautical and Space Sciences, and Joint Atomic Energy.

Former Jefferson County Attorney and former member of City of Fairbury School Board. Is attorney for Board of Public Works for City of Fairbury. Member of Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce. Nebraska State Bar Association and American College of Probate Counsel. Elected to the United States House of Representatives November 8, 1966.

Was executive secretary and president Omaha Junior Chamber of Commerce; convention bureau manager Omaha Chamber of Commerce 1941; member Omaha City Council and Superintendent of Fire Prevention and Water Supply; named "Outstanding Young Man" in Omaha and Nebraska 1945; member Omaha Board of Education 19461948; Omaha Fire Commissioner 1947-1948; Omaha City Mayor 1948-1954; delegate to Republican National Conventions 1948 and 1952; State Director Savings Bond Division U. S. Treasury Department 1954-1956. Is a member of Episcopal Church. Woodmen of World, Eagles and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1956, 1958, 1960, 1962. and 1964. Re-elected November 8, 1966. Member Post Office and Civil Service Committee 1957. Member Interstate and Foreign Commerce Committee, 1963.

Married Margaret Taylor on June 27, 1931; three children: David K., Mrs. Patricia Maloney, and John L. He is a lumberman. Has served as Republican county chairman and Republican state chairman. Is a Shriner and member of Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. Elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1960, 1962, and 1964. Re-elected November 8, 1966.
