Washington, Seattle; and University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
Member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Served in Africa and
Italy during World War II as Captain. Married Miss Martin,
December 27, 1941; four children: Mary Catherine (Mrs.
Herman Bates), Ann Elizabeth, Richard Martin, and Michael
David. Is treasurer and chairman of Herman Bros., Inc., a
bulk oil motor carrier firm. Former member, board of
directors, American Red Cross; past president, Nebraska
State Chamber of Commerce; and past president, Nebraska
Motor Carriers Association. Is the 1966 chairman of American
Cancer Crusade. Member of: board of directors, Doctors
Hospital, Omaha; Nebraska State Association of Commerce and
Industry; American Cancer Society; Nebraska Motor Carriers
Association; Effective Citizens Organization; Happy Hollow
Country Club, Omaha; Capitol Hill Club, Washington, D. C.;
and Christ the King Parish, Omaha. Elected Regent in

public schools, Columbia University, Grinnell College. and
University of Nebraska. Married Mollie Clasper, May 14,
1941; three children. Livestock and banking business.
Lieutenant Commander, United States Naval Reserve;
Presbyterian. Member: board of directors, Osmond General
Hospital; Nebraska Hall of Agricultural Achievement; Elks;
American Legion; 40 et 8; Nebraska Stock Growers
Association; Nebraska Live Stock Feeders Association. 4-H
Club Leader, 9 years; and listed in "Who's Who in America".
Elected Regent in 1958; re-elected Regent November 3,
1964. |

Throat Specialist. Member of State Medical Association, and
Rotary Club. 1960 Councilor of State Medical Society. 1962
president of Association of Governing Boards of State
Universities and Allied Institutions, and 1964 chairman of
National Association of University Governing Boards
Foundation. 1962 Recipient of Distinguished Service Award
from National Association of University Governing Boards,
and 1964 Recipient of "Service to Mankind" Award from
Sertoma International. Listed in "Who's Who in America" in
1964. Elected Regent in 1952 and 1958. Re-elected November
3, 1964. |

Born Upland, Nebraska,
April 22, 1928. Was graduated from Campbell High School,
1945; and received B. Sc. degree from University of
Nebraska, 1951 (with high distinction). Member, Alpha Gamma
Rho (social) fraternity; honorary organizations: Innocents
Society, Gamma Sigma Delta and Alpha Zeta. Married Eileen
Derieg, June 9, 1951; five children: Sharon, Carol, Chris,
Kevin, and Elizabeth. Is a farmer and livestock feeder. Air
Force Veteran, presently holds commission in Air Force
Reserve, retired. Past member of steering committee for
Educational Television in Nebraska, and past member,
Nebraska Resources Committee. Member of: Advisory Board for
Administration of the Manpower Development and Training Act
in Nebraska; Minden Rotary Club and Kearney County T-Bone
Club. Appointed Regent on January 11, 1966, by Governor
Morrison to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Val Peterson who
resigned. |

June 22, 1894. Ancestry Scotch and Dutch. Attended high
school, Nebraska Wesleyan University and University of
Nebraska. Member, Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Married
Camille Leyda, June 2, 1917; four children. Is an insurance
and banking agent. President of Gering National Bank. Has
served as president of Chamber of Commerce, chairman of
Community Chest, YMCA Board and as Trustee of Methodist
Church. Member of Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Shriner,
Lions Club and Elks Lodge. Appointed Regent to fill vacancy
created by resignation of Dwight Griswold in 1952, and
served until January. 1955. Elected Regent in 1956.
Reelected November 6, 1962. Chairman of the Board of Regents
since 1962. |
