| Dear Mr. Foley: This department of the University of Nebraska is trying to determine the origin of all place names in this State. We intend to issue a bulletin by this department containing the information gathered in order to preserve the names of the early settlers of this State. We have been informed that Foley Lake in Grant County was named for you. Is this correct? Was it named by the early settlers or ranchmen or by some person in particular? |
