Portrait
and Biographical Album of Otoe and Cass Counties, Nebraska,
1889. Published by Chapman
Brothers, Chicago.
Another phenomenal job done by Ted & Carole Miller who so graciously give of their time to get data on line for researchers. This includes the index from the publication and one day when they take a breath, they may do an all name index also. Running & ducking I remain...<g>

"the
Old Town On the River"
by Flora Bullock - 1900
This book captures the true spirit of Nebraskans! It was very pleasant reading, and contains a lot of beautiful photographs of the region around Nebraska City, the "Old Town". Lynn Waterman who hosts the Legacy Site has completed this book and another about the Louisiana Purchase (see U.S. selection page) Complete with an all name index.

1906
NEBRASKA CITY,
NEBRASKA PHOTO ALBUM
This neat photo album published in 1906 has a wide array of images, about 150, showing the business houses to the residences and the parks of the area at that time. There is also a compact history of the area included. Thanks to Ginger's Graphics all of the beautiful etchings were saved and made useable for this on line book. Pam Rietsch created an all name index even though there are not that many names listed in the book. This is a new url so please change any you might have,

"Historical Sketch of Brownell Hall"
This little book covers the history of Brownell Hall in Nebraska City between classes of 1863-1864 & 1913-1914 . Originally in between Florence & Omaha the Alumnae Association of the school was eager to get the history of the school after many of the records were lost. A very interesting read.
