NEBRASKA WEATHER ~ TORNADO SELECTIONS

Omaha Tornado Books - March 23, 1913

Make sure you also check out the description of the book

America’s Greatest Calamity

about this storm under the U.S. Category on the main page of the Memorial Library. Since that book covered several states I placed the link there.

  1913 Omaha Tornado - German

The first I am hoping someone out there can help me as I can stumble through genealogical German, the fancy text in this booklet I have no clue what it says and I would love to put the English translation below the German images. So if someone can help me, please contact me. There are a few of these images of the 1913 March Omaha tornado booklet that I put up last year that are the same but there are also a number of new images, so enjoy, at least the pictures.

This interesting little book was an addition to the Omaha newspapers when the storm was still fresh in the people's minds...With this story of the Easter Sunday 1913 storm there are dozens of photos and a scary description of what it was like to actually live through the storm of the century. Complete with an all name index by Pam Rietsch.

This is another booklet that was printed immediately after the horrible tornado on March 23, 1913 that went through several states and caused massive damage to life and property. There are 30 images in this booklet printed by the Omaha Bee, and a page of statistics. I did not make an all name index since there were only about 10 names in the whole book but they are listed in either the image subtitles or the table of contents. Enjoy!
