Business part of Ralston destroyed
The entire Business district of the town of Ralston, situated not far from south Omaha, was destroyed through the frightening tornado. After the destruction of the houses, fire broke out in several places, which made the situation even worse. The horror and confusion of the people itself was indescribable. After the situation was more or less under control, doctors were asked to come from south Omaha, for the purpose of treating the injured. Provincial hospitals smaller than train-switching huts were used easterly of the Cudahn icehouses. The work of the doctors was difficult in the darkness, lanterns had to be used by them. Three persons fell victim to the tornado; the number of injured totaled at 12. The property damage that was caused contributed over $200,000. In the town

the demon of the sky caused death and ruins. Under the rubble that the tornado left behind in its tracks, 18 were found dead and 21 more or less badly injured. There were 40 houses, 2 of them churches, totally destroyed. Yutan had a strong German population. The town was in very bad shape.
