STOCKTON AND DARLINGTON ENGINE, 1830

The Stockton and Darlington Engines constructed between 1830 and 1834, together with the Hackworth's "Royal George" of 1827, were the earliest six coupled engines made and they invariably had inside frames.

This engine requires a tender at each end although but one is shown.

The drivers were of a peculiar design by Timothy Hackworth.
