AMERICAN PASSENGER ENGINE BY DANFORTH, COOKE & CO. 1855

This shows the general type of locomotives turned out at the shops of Danforth, Cooke & Co. at this period. The essential features of this engine are not different from those of more modern date, the stack and short smoke box however have given place to the straight stack and extension front; the pump to the injector, and the "underhung" links to suspension links.
