SIMPLE CONSOLIDATION FREIGHT LOCOMOTIVE 1899

     

    

     These engines were built by the Pennsylvania  R. R. Co. for heavy freight-service; cylinders 23½" x 28"; drivers 56" diameter; heating surface 2917 square feet; weight in working order 186,500 lbs; boiler Belpaire type; tractive power of engine 35,816 lbs.

     These engines were designed with especial care and intelligence and may be classed among the highest types of freight locomotives of today.
