ENGLISH FOUR COUPLED EXPRESS LOCOMOTIVE 1899

     

    

     This cut shows a design for a locomotive of the "Atlantic" type, now being introduced in England.

     These engines have driving wheels 84" diameter a total heating surface of 1950 square feet; a steam pressure of 200 lbs per square inch; cylinders 18½" dia. by 26" stroke and weigh in working order 136,600 lbs.
